C/R: Police crack down on drug trafficking in Upper Denkyira East

The Central North Regional Police Command has arrested seven individuals in a targeted anti-drug operation in Dunkwa-On-Offin, Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region.

Led by Regional Commander DCOP Abraham Acquaye, the operation resulted in the seizure of 69 compressed parcels of suspected marijuana, quantities of tramadol, and other dried leaves concealed in polythene bags and sacks.

The arrested individuals include five suspected drug peddlers and two users, notably a couple, Gifty Yeboah, 59, and her partner, Kofi Essien.

DCOP Acquaye emphasized the importance of community cooperation in combating drug-related activities, cautioning the youth against drug abuse and urging them to focus on building a better future.

The suspects are in police custody and will be arraigned before the court as investigations continue.
