C/R: Two men accused of killing seamstress after failed ‘For Girls’ ritual

Two young men have been remanded in police custody for the alleged rape and murder of a 21-year-old seamstress in Twifo Praso, after a failed “for girls” ritual reportedly aimed at charming her.

The suspects, Richard Armah, 28-year-old mechanic and Isaac Arhin, 24-year-old DJ known locally as Fresh DJ were arraigned before the Twifo Praso Magistrate Court and remanded into police custody. They are set to reappear in court on May 21, 2025.

Zenabu’s lifeless body was discovered on April 3 under horrifying circumstances. She was found with a cloth tied around her neck, bloodstains on her body, and items like condom wrapper, a super glue container, and an apple were found nearby.

According to police, Armah had developed romantic feelings for Zenabu, but she did not reciprocate.

In a desperate attempt to win her over, Armah reportedly turned to his friend Arhin, who introduced him to a spiritualist to perform a “for girls” ritual, a popular practice believed to supernaturally influence women.

But when the charm failed, the case took a sinister turn. Investigators say Zenabu was sexually assaulted and murdered.
