A 40-year-old woman has allegedly killed her husband following a dispute over proceeds from charcoal sales at Ekumfi Asaman in the Central Region.
Residents said the couple, who were engaged in farming and charcoal trading, argued on Wednesday after the woman, identified only as Auntie Esi, accused her husband, Kweku Blankson, of withholding a large portion of the money from their sales.
According to eyewitnesses, the disagreement turned violent after Blankson allegedly assaulted his wife during the confrontation.
Residents further alleged that the woman later attacked her husband while he was asleep.
Blankson was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The incident has shocked residents of the community, while police are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
