Calls grow for arrest of Russian man over secret recordings of Ghanaian women

Calls for the arrest of a Russian national accused of secretly recording and publishing intimate encounters with Ghanaian women are gathering momentum, as public outrage spreads across social media.

The man, identified as Yaytseslav, is alleged to have travelled to Ghana and targeted women around Accra, particularly near the Accra Mall area at Shiashie. According to accounts circulating online, he approached women in public spaces, struck up conversations and invited them to his hotel room with a simple line, “Come, I want to show you how I live.”

One of the women, a 29 year old identified only as Angela, is said to have met him at Accra Mall. Sources claim she cancelled her Bolt ride and accompanied him to his hotel, where they engaged in a private encounter. Unbeknown to her and others, the man allegedly recorded the meetings using wearable camera glasses.

Clips from the recordings have since surfaced on platforms including TikTok, Facebook and Telegram. The videos reportedly show the women inside his hotel room, with their faces clearly visible. In some cases, links shared alongside the clips direct viewers to explicit content said to contain full recordings of the sexual encounters.

The publication of the videos has sparked widespread anger, with many Ghanaians condemning what they describe as a gross invasion of privacy and exploitation. Critics argue that the women were recorded without their knowledge or consent, and that sharing the footage online has exposed them to humiliation and lasting reputational harm.

Sources claim that several of the women were approached in and around Accra Mall and that many of the encounters took place the same day they met him.

As the controversy grows, members of the public have tagged the Ghana Police in posts demanding swift action. Many are urging authorities to track down the suspect, investigate the allegations and prevent further distribution of the material.

Police have yet to issue a detailed public statement on the matter, but pressure is mounting for decisive action as the videos continue to circulate online.
