A 50-year-old car dealer has been shot dead and his wife left critically injured after a gunman opened fire on them outside their home at Beach Drive Estate near Tuba in the Ga South Municipality.
Kwesi Rahman and his wife had reportedly returned from an evening walk at about 9:30pm on Thursday, August 6, when an unidentified man allegedly emerged and fired several shots at them as they approached the entrance to their residence.
Mr Rahman sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.
His wife was also hit several times in the attack and is currently in critical condition.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, but the incident is being treated as an alleged targeted attack.
The identity and whereabouts of the gunman are not yet known.
The shooting has left residents of the Beach Drive Estate community concerned, particularly because it happened at night and close to the couple’s home.
Police are expected to investigate the circumstances leading to the attack and establish the motive behind the shooting.
