Celebrated Highlife singer Dada KD dead aged 56

Nana Kwaku Duah, popularly known as Dada KD, the celebrated Ghanaian Highlife musician, has died.

The 56-year-old singer died on Friday, May 16, 2025.

The cause of his death is yet to be disclosed.

With a career marked by timeless contributions to Ghanaian music, Dada KD’s distinctive voice and emotional delivery earned him widespread recognition, including the Best Male Vocal Artist award at the 2004 Ghana Music Awards UK.

The bereaved family is yet to issue an official statement on Dada KD’s death.

At the time of his death, Dada KD was set to perform in London on May 25 alongside notable artists including Obrafour, Slim Buster, and Kojo Blakk.

Tributes have begun pouring in on social media from fans and fellow musicians.

Dada KD is best known for songs like Tekyere Ma, Ene Menye, Wosuro a Wondi, Honey Love, Fatia Fata Nkrumah, among others.
