Central Regional NDC condemns govt’s ‘diabolical’ attempt to jail Ato Forson

The Central Regional Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have strongly condemned the government’s alleged attempt to incarcerate the Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, in the ongoing ambulance trial.

Addressing a press conference in Cape Coast on Friday, May 24, Professor Richard Kofi Asiedu, the Regional Chairman of the NDC, described the government’s actions as “diabolical” and “devious”.

He alleged that the government, led by Godfred Dame, was deliberately trying to manipulate the judicial process to falsely implicate Dr. Ato Forson.

Professor Asiedu expressed concern over what he termed as “persecution” against the Minority Leader and accused the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration of undermining the integrity of the judicial process for political purposes.

In a show of solidarity, Professor Asiedu announced plans to storm the court in the next sitting to support the embattled MP and Minority Leader.

The NDC Regional Chairman assured that the party was closely monitoring the unfolding events and would not allow the government to manipulate the process to achieve its political goals.
