Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has unveiled a 35-member campaign team for his bid to become the next National Chairman of the party.
The team, made up of party executives, former government officials, communicators and grassroots organisers, will steer his campaign ahead of the NPP’s national executive elections.
Former MP for Sunyani East, Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, has been named Campaign Chairman, while former MP for New Edubiase, George Oduro, will serve as Campaign Manager.
Former Deputy National Youth Organiser, Archibald Cobbina, is in charge of Field Operations and Delegates Mobilisation, with Andy Owusu leading Campaign Operations covering finance, logistics and programmes.
The campaign’s political affairs team includes Sarah Adwoa Safo, Moses Anim and Stephen Amoah [Sticka].
Media and communications will be led by Ewuradjoa Coleman, while the spokespersons team includes David Boakye, Akua Afriyie, Pope Yao Yevoo and Dr Palgrave Boakye-Danquah.
Other members of the team have been assigned to welfare, electoral affairs, women mobilisation, special operations and external affairs.
Chairman Wontumi recently announced his decision to contest for the NPP National Chairman position, saying the party needed leadership that is stable, principled and focused on unity.
In a statement issued earlier this week, he said the NPP was at a critical point following recent political challenges and needed a leader who understood the grassroots and valued every member of the party.
“Our party has faced challenges and learned hard lessons along the way. At this critical moment, the NPP demands leadership that is steady, principled, and committed to unity,” he said.
According to him, his decision followed consultations with senior party figures and prayerful reflection.
Chairman Wontumi said his ambition is to rebuild confidence within the party, strengthen its grassroots structures and position the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections.
