CHAN 2023: Black Galaxies to arrive in Algeria today

Ghana’s Black Galaxies are expected to arrive in Algeria later today,  Wednesday, January 4, 2022, for the African Nations Championships (CHAN 2023) tournament after camping on Monday.

The team moved to Cairo on Christmas eve as they stepped up their preparations for the CHAN 2023.

During their camping in Cairo, the team played two friendly games against Egypt’s U-20 side while also facing African giants, Al Ahly.

Both games saw Ghana record wins with the Black Galaxies scoring five goals in the two games.

The team will now head to Algeria where the tournament will be held as they seek to familiarise themselves with the environment.

The African Nations Championship (CHAN) is a biennial African national association football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football and first announced on 11 September 2007.

Ghana have been drawn in Group C alongside holders Morocco, Sudan, and Madagascar.

The team headed by coach Annor Walker has been to the finals twice, first at the inaugural tournament in 2008 and in 2014 against Libya.
