Chief Inspector Emmanuel Amoah, a police officer stationed at the Odorkor Divisional Motor Traffic and Transport Department, has reportedly died by suicide at the police quarters near the Abossey Okai Post Office in Accra.
The incident is said to have happened on Thursday, 14th May, at about 12:35 GMT.
According to reports, the officer was found lifeless in his bedroom, seated close to his bed with a sponge tied around his neck and attached to a wooden bar.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be officially detailed by the police.
