Cholera kills five in Kasoa, 30 cases recorded

Five persons have died as a result of a cholera outbreak in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

Several other persons are also currently on admission in various public health facilities within the municipality.

Municipal Chief Executive for Kasoa, Anita Love Obboh Emissah told Metro TV in an interview that authorities are linking the outbreak to infected persons who were being transported to Kasoa for treatment from the Gomoa East District.

At an emergency meeting between health officers and other District Chief Executives (DCEs) emergency steps such as vigorous public health campaign and the provision of sanitation facilities are being made to mitigate spread.
