Coalition of Fante Youth congratulates Ato Forson on his appointment as Minority Leader

A group calling itself Coalition of Fante Youth (CoFY) has welcomed the decision of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to reshuffle its leadership in Parliament.

Singling out the appointment of Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as the new Minority Leader, the group congratulated and described the Oxford-trained Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam Constituency as a “hardworking compatriot” and a “great inspiration for the teeming Fante Youth across the country”

The CoYF in a statement issued on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, urged Dr. Ato Forson to stay focused and commit himself to endeavors that prioritize the collective good of Ghana beyond personal, political, religious, and ethnic persuasions.

“He should continue being the leading light of hope for all young men of the country and serve mother Ghana in truth and humility”

“As a group, we sincerely appreciate the leadership of the NDC for this honor done our beloved brother and we pledge our unalloyed support to him to be able to squarely deliver on the mandate of his office,” the statement added.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) announced a change in its leadership in Parliament on Tuesday, January 24.

The party replaced Haruna Iddrisu as the Minority leader and with Dr. Cassiell Ato Forson.

Ellembelle lawmaker Emmanuel Kofi Armah Buah was named the deputy Minority leader.

Also, Ahmed Ibrahim and Comfort Doyo Ghansah were appointed first and second deputy whips respectively.

According to the Party, the decision is in the best interest of the party.
