A man has been fined GHC24,000 after pleading guilty to unlawfully discharging a firearm in public, in a case that police say underscores their resolve to clamp down on gun related offences.
Pergringo Braimah Abubakah Sadick, also known as Cyborg, was convicted on 31st December 2025 by the Adenta Circuit Court One, presided over by Her Honour Angela Attachie, following investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department.
Sadick admitted the offence when he appeared before the court and expressed remorse for his actions. Based on his guilty plea, the court imposed a fine of 2,000 penalty units, equivalent to GHC24,000, which he paid in full.
In addition to the fine, the court revoked his firearm licence and ordered that the weapon used in the incident be confiscated by the state.
The Ghana Police Service said the conviction reflects its commitment to enforcing the law and protecting the public, warning that the unlawful use of firearms will be met with firm action.
