A 27-year-old teacher in Odumase-Krobo has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempting to blackmail a colleague into having sex with him.
Prosecutors told the court that Kumi and Dzigbordi were casual friends. When Kumi proposed a romantic relationship and she declined, he resorted to threats.
According to Dzigbordi, she occasionally used Kumi’s iPhone to take personal pictures, unaware that he was secretly keeping them. Investigators said Kumi later sent the photos back to her, demanding sex and threatening to post them on social media if she refused.
Dzigbordi reported the matter to police instead of giving in to the threats. Kumi was arrested, prosecuted and handed a 10-year jail term with hard labour.
