Cynthia Morrison survives suspected assassination attempt

The Member of Parliament for Agona West Constituency, Cynthia Mamle Morrison, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in Agona Nyakrom on Sunday, October 27.

While on a campaign tour around 7:40 pm an unidentified gunman targeted the former Gender Minister but missed, striking another individual instead.

The attack occurred during a power outage in the area, adding to the chaos.

Cynthia Morrison swiftly sought refuge at the nearby police station with her team to report the incident.

The assailant’s motive remains unclear, and authorities have commenced investigations into the attempted assassination.

This incident comes a few weeks after Madam Cynthia Morrison had an injunction against her candidacy lifted by a District Magistrate Court in Agona Swedru.

She had switched to an independent bid for the Agona West Constituency after alleging unfair treatment within her party.

Cynthia Morrison did not immediately respond to a Metro TV request for comment.
