The Damongo Circuit Court on Tuesday 9 th June, 2026 convicted Alhassan Fuseini, popularly known as Alhaji Rambo, a Damongo Constituency Vice Chairman aspirant of the New Patriotic Party, and two others for assault and unlawful entry.
Court documents filed as Case No. R.O 106/2026 show Alhaji Rambo, 57, was charged alongside Fuseini Vogu alias Jaaga, 40, and Jakpa Bakari, 45, on Count One: Conspiracy to Commit Crime contrary to Section 23 of the Criminal Offence Act, 29/60.
The court found that Alhaji Rambo led a group of NPP youth to the residence of NDC supporter Fuseini Sorku, also called Fuzzy Sorku, in what was described as a retaliatory move. He was convicted of unlawful entry into Sorku’s residence without consent, causing damage to property, and assault.
Presiding over the case, the court imposed fines totalling GHC 40,400.00. The breakdown: GHC 20,000.00 for property damage and GHC 20,400.00 for assault. Alhaji Rambo was also ordered to sign a bond of good behaviour.
The New Patriotic Party paid the fines on his behalf, securing his release.
However, the related case involving Fuseini Sorku and Hakim remains unresolved. The original assault occurred in Tamale and has been reported to the Northern Regional Police Command. Fuseini Sorku is expected to be formally arraigned to answer for his alleged role in the attack on Hakim.
