David Peter Winnie Insists Hearts of Oak Must Pay René Hiddink in Full

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club is working toward an amicable resolution in its ongoing contractual dispute with former Technical Director René Hiddink, following a series of court proceedings.

Hiddink’s representative, football manager and solicitor David Peter Winnie, has made it clear that the former Dutch coach expects full payment, including interest, before any settlement can be reached. Winnie stated, “I want the full amount to be paid to René Hiddink—nothing more, nothing less.”

The next court hearing, scheduled for 19th May 2026, aims to clarify why Hearts of Oak has yet to comply with prior court orders regarding the payment.

In response, the club has reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism and institutional stability. In an official statement, Hearts of Oak said it remains focused on resolving the matter respectfully and constructively, assuring supporters, partners, and stakeholders of its efforts to bring the issue to a peaceful conclusion.

The club further disclosed that its legal team has submitted a formal settlement proposal to Hiddink’s representatives, following discussions between both parties, including engagements held in court.
