Davido and Chioma’s son Ifeanyi dies aged 3

Death has laid its icy hands on Afro Beat singer, Davido and his girlfriend, Chioma Rowland’s son Ifeanyi Adeleke.

The celebrity child who died at three years old on Monday, October 31, 2022, marked his birthday just 11 days ago.

Information regarding his demise presently remains scanty. However, we gather the child reportedly drowned at the ‘Assurance’ crooner’s residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State.

According to Nigerian celebrity blogger Linda Ikeji, the couple had traveled for a family gathering in Ibadan on Sunday and had left Ifeanyi with his minders who can’t explain how he entered the pool without being noticed and drowned.

He was rushed to Evercare Hospital in Lekki where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Police have arrested persons present at Davido’s house when the incident happened, we have gathered.

Reactions

Although the family is yet to confirm or deny Davido’s first son’s death, entertainment enthusiasts have subtly ascertained the news which has shaken social media and fans commiserating with the singer.

On-air personality Daddy Freeze, Lasisi Elenu, comedian Ayo Makun and a host of others have shared cryptic messages in the wake of the news.

“When the person you love is someone involved it becomes a heavy emotional burden. I am not confirming anything but bear with me I will not be live tonight,” Daddy Freeze said in an Instagram live.

Taking to Instagram Tuesday morning, Makun wrote, “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad.”

Lasisi Elenu also posted, “Father heal your children’s hearts from this pain, strengthen them in such a dark and hurtful time oh Lord.”

Popular Nollywood actress Rosemary Afuwape, wrote on her Instagram story, “My heart can’t take this. This is so painfully unbearable. Chioma and Davido please accept my condolences. No amount of words can comfort your hearts. I am truly sorry for your loss.”
