DCEs, NPP Executives Involved In Galamsey – Inusah Fuseini

Former Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Inusah Fuseini has claimed that some people in high positions in the current government’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) are engaged in illegal mining operations (galamsey).

He said that contrary to what the government claims, community mining is solely done by party members.

He stated that some DCEs and party members have deep roots in Galamsey.

He stated that this is preventing the President from taking strong action to end the threat in the whole country.”

You may remember that in 2017, President Akufo-Addo said to the people of Ghana that he was willing to risk losing the presidency in order to stop illegal mining.

Because President Akufo-Addo’s own people are involved in the galamsey activities, Mahama observed, he is unable to crack the whip and insist that District Chief Executives and other party executives are the ones responsible for the government’s Community Mining program’s destruction of forest reserves.

“He would have resigned by now, in fact, if we were in another jurisdiction. Since his own people have been revealed to be involved and all of their party executives have concessions and are engaging in illegal mining in forest reserves, he has put his presidency on the line by his word, “Inusah Fuseini told Kwaku Owusu Adjei(Patoo) on Adwenekasa on Accra-based Original FM 91.9.
