Real Tamale United has described as harsh, a GHC 100,000 fine imposed on them by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for fielding unqualified players in a match against Dreams FC.
Mohammed Kayaba, Public Relations Officer of the club, said the fine was excessive, considering the club’s financial struggles.
“The money is too much for us. We are a club struggling with finances,” he lamented in an interview with Nana Kwaku Mensah on Original FM’s Super Sports Show on Wednesday.
Kayaba noted that the club had pleaded guilty to the charges and had expected a more lenient punishment, given their difficult financial situation.
The club has been handed a significant financial burden, which could further exacerbate their financial woes.
