Disregard threats and display Bawumia’s posters freely – Pusiga Naba to NPP

The Chief of Pusiga, Naba Tambisbaalug Ibrahim Aguri, has directed members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the area to display posters of their presidential candidate, Dr. Mahmud Bawumia, without fear.

The directive comes after some youth groups in the area attempted to ban the posters, leading to gunshots being fired last week.

The incident prompted a courtesy call from the Upper East Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, to brief the chief on the regional security council’s intentions.

The minister warned that the council would impose a curfew and other security measures if residents failed to behave.

Some youth in the area accused Dr. Bawumia of meddling in the conflict between Kusasis and Mamprusis in Bawku, allegedly supporting the latter because they are his kinsmen.

However, calm has been restored, and businesses and activities have returned to normal.
The chief’s directive ensures that the NPP can campaign freely in the area.
