The Ghana Education Service has received a newly built 600 bed dormitory facility for Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School following a donation by businessman and old student Ernest Ofori Sarpong.
Dr Ofori Sarpong, who currently serves as Board Chairman of the school and Global President of its alumni association, presented the facility to his alma mater in appreciation of the discipline, values and training he received as a student.
The new dormitory is expected to improve accommodation for students and reduce congestion in boarding houses as the government continues efforts to expand access to quality secondary education.

In a statement, the Ghana Education Service described the donation as an exemplary act that highlights the growing role of old students’ associations in supporting education in the country.
It said alumni groups have become important partners in the education sector through infrastructure projects, scholarships, mentorship and support for school governance.
The Service also encouraged other former students and alumni associations to support educational development across the country.
Management assured Dr Ofori Sarpong and the public that the facility would be properly maintained and used effectively for the benefit of current and future students.
The donation, the statement added, reflects the strong bond between schools and their former students and demonstrates the impact of collective support in improving education.
