Member of Parliament for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) representing Cape Coast South in the Central Region, Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, has vigorously defended Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, whom some have criticized for being arrogant.
According to the NDC MP, there is no truth to the claims that NAPO, as Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is commonly known, is haughty. He claimed that if one gets to know NAPO well, they will realize what a wonderful person he is.
“Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh is a fantastic person if you get to know him well. He is very assertive and can be bold at times, but that cannot be an attribute of arrogance in the real sense of the word. He is very fantastic if you ask me” the MP stated.
Additionally, he suggested that Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is an intellectual who has intelligent debates and that his position is incomprehensible as arrogance. He declared, “Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is all about intellectual debates.”
He highlighted that Napo is not only approachable and friendly but also deeply passionate about his work.
The National Executive Council (NEC) of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) unanimously approved Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 general elections last week.
According to the party, Dr Opoku Prempeh meets all the criteria for the running mate position, which led to his unanimous approval.
The party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, emphasised that Dr. Opoku Prempeh is a proven achiever.
Kodua Frimpong noted that the Manhyia South MP possesses the qualities needed to strengthen the party’s ticket and secure victory in the upcoming election.
