Dr. Randy Abbey optimistic about Black Stars Management Committee’s impact

Chairman of the newly constructed Black Stars Management Committee, Dr. Randy Abbey is optimistic about the committee’s potential to make a great impact on Ghana football.

Last week, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) unveiled a revamped Management Committee for the Black Stars, with Dr. Abbey as Chairman and former captain Stephen Appiah as Vice Chairman.

The committee also includes prominent figures such as Samuel Aboabire, GFA Executive Council member and Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional FA; Moses Armah Parker, President of Medeama SC; and Richard Nsenkyire, President of FC Samartex.

Speaking in an interview with Original FM, Dr. Randy Abbey expressed confidence in the strength and diversity of the committee.

“We are going to benefit a lot from Appiah’s experience, network and the many ideas. Moses Armah Parker is a club owner and top businessman. He has loads of experience in football and previously served on the same committee,” he said.

“Nsenkyire is a top cooperate personality. You look at how he’s being able to run Samartex and his background in the coorperate world for about 30-years. Samuel Aboabire is being in the game for long.”

“Looking at the committee, you could see there is a blend of people with diverse backgrounds, expected, and experiences. I think its quite a good blend.

“With the commitment I have seen, we will be able to do something great for Ghana football. Those who previously held the position did their best and we are going to build upon it. It’s a composition of some quiet experience and qualified persons. I hope we will be able to do a great job for Ghana and GFA.

“We will greatly benefit from Stephen Appiah’s wealth of experience, his extensive network, and the many ideas he brings.”

“Moses Armah Parker is not only a successful club owner but also a top businessman. He’s got plenty of experience in football and has previously served on this committee,” he added.

As chairman of the Committee, Randy Abbey will lead engagements with the Government and other key stakeholders. Stephen Appiah will provide support to Dr. Abbey and focusing on Player Relations.

Samuel Aboabire and Moses Armah will manage Operations and Matchday activities, focusing on sponsor, partner, and collaborator interests. Richard Nsenkyire will handle Special Duties.

Part of the responsibilities of Committee will be to oversee team management, develop strategic plans, and liaise with the Technical Team and GFA to ensure proper camping, logistical support, and team adherence to activity schedules.

The Committee will also manage funds from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, organize travel, and maintain a high standard of conduct for the team. It will establish policies for effective management and collaborate with the GFA’s Marketing and Communications to meet sponsor obligations and ensure clear communication.
