Dumsor has been ongoing since January – Jinapor contradicts Akufo-Addo

The Ranking Member on the Mines and Energy Committee of Parliament, John Abdulai Jinapor, has disputed President Akufo-Addo’s claim that there is no power shedding (Dumsor) in Ghana.

According to Jinapor, Ghana has been experiencing power shedding since January 2024, contrary to the President’s assertion made in Kumasi during the unveiling of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh affectionately called Napo as Bawumia’s running mate.

He noted that the management of Ghana’s power players, from generation (Volta River Authority) to transmission (GRIDCO) and distribution (Electricity Company of Ghana), have confirmed that Ghana has been going through power shedding.

He insists President Akufo-Addo’s claim is inaccurate and that the information is known to all members of the Mines and Energy Committee, including the Chairman, Samuel Atta-Akyea.
