The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has sworn in a new Board of Directors for the Marine Drive project, urging members to act quickly, account for every decision, and deliver clear results.
Speaking at the inauguration, the minister said the flagship coastal redevelopment must return to a disciplined and results-focused path. She stressed that the board’s work should be guided by transparency, value for money, and the national interest, noting that public confidence in the project depends on visible progress.
The five-member board is chaired by Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah. Other members are Maame Efua Houadjeto, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority; Prof. Kobby Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Development Company; and Divine Owusu-Ansah, Director for Culture and Creative Arts at the ministry. A representative from the private sector also serves on the board, while the ministry’s Chief Director is an ex officio member.
The minister reaffirmed that the ministry remains the policy anchor for the project and will closely monitor its direction. She charged the board to deliver a legacy development that creates jobs, attracts private investment, and strengthens Ghana’s coastal tourism economy.
Marine Drive is one of the government’s most ambitious tourism projects, and the new board has been tasked with restoring momentum and ensuring that the vision translates into tangible benefits for the country.
