The Ghana Highway Authority has announced the temporary closure of the Anyinam Bypass on the busy Accra to Kumasi Road to allow for critical tower relocation works by the Ghana Grid Company Limited.
The closure, which takes effect from Sunday October 5 until Tuesday October 14, is intended to ensure the safety of both motorists and engineers as the transmission line corridor undergoes major adjustments.
The Authority has strongly advised motorists and the general public to stay away from the bypass while the works are in progress. The Ghana Police Service will be on hand to manage traffic and support public safety throughout the period.
“We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but these works are necessary to safeguard lives and ensure efficient travel along the Accra to Kumasi corridor,” the Authority said in a statement.
The Highway Authority is urging full cooperation from drivers and transport unions during the 10-day exercise, assuring that measures are being taken to minimise disruption on one of the country’s busiest highways.
