E/R: Take STEM education seriously – Okyenhene

The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, has emphasized the need for every Ghanaian child to have interest in the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.

This, he said, will help develop the country through their critical thinking and innovations.

Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin was speaking at the Commission of two of his model schools named the Amoatia Ofori Panin Model school at Coaltar in the Ayensuano District and Apedwa in the Abuakwa South municipality of the Eastern Region.

The schools are part of 10 schools built by Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin to mark his 25 anniversary of his ascension to the Ofori Panin stool.

Eight of the schools at Osino, Kwabeng, Wenchi, Achiase, Coaltar, Apedwa, Kyebi, and Asuom have been Commissioned.

Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin said most of the develop countries in the world can be attributed to the education of their citizens and called on the pupils to be very serious with their education.

The District Chief Executive for Ayensuano Madam Josephine Awuku Ansah Inkoom said the district assembly will complement the Okyenhene’s effort by constructing additional six unit classroom block.

She said the drawings of the classroom block have been completed and there is also land available to complete the project.
