EC rejects Election Watch Ghana’s application for accreditation as 2024 election observer

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has rejected Election Watch Ghana’s application for accreditation as an observer for the 2024 general elections.

In a letter dated November 4, 2024, and signed by Chairperson Jean Mensa, the EC expressed gratitude for the application but stated that it is “unable to accept” it at this time.

The letter reads: “I bring you warm greetings from the Electoral Commission (EC) and trust that this letter finds you well. I thank you for your application for accreditation for Election Observation.”

However, the Commission’s decision leaves Election Watch Ghana’s observation plans uncertain.
