The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has lambasted the Electoral Commission (EC) for failing to release the Provisional Voter Register (PVR) to political parties, just four days before the exhibition exercise.
Dr. Edward Omane Boamah the NDC Director of Elections expressed outrage on Facebook, stating, “When we tell you the EC is incompetent, we mean exactly that!”
According to him, the Electoral Commission’s failure to release the provisional voter register, is a “threat to 2024 elections”
Dr. Omane Boamah emphasized the voter register and EC’s conduct pose a significant threat to the upcoming elections especially when the Commission has disappointed political parries several times.
He warned, “CITIZENS shall take the case to the people through public fora and demonstrations in due course.”
The NDC is demanding the immediate release of the PVR, urging the EC to fulfill its obligations.
“EC, release the provisional voter register now !”Boamah stressed.
Furthermore, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah registered the NDC’s dissatisfaction with Parliament for not initiating investigations into the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) kits stolen under CCTV surveillance at the EC’s headquarters
“Unfortunately, the Parliament of Ghana refused to act on NDC’s request to investigate the EC when the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) kits were stolen under CCTV surveillance at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission,” he noted.
