EC revises media accreditation policy for constituency and regional collation centres

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced a revised media accreditation policy, allowing media personnel with photo accreditation to cover polling stations to also access constituency and regional collation centres.

This decision was made after internal discussions and consultations with key media personalities.

“The EC is desirous to maintain the highest level of transparency and accountability in its operations,” EC said in a statement.

“The revised media accreditation aims to provide media personnel with greater flexibility and access to key election centres.”

The EC emphasized its commitment to ensuring that the media can effectively cover the electoral process, stating that “this change reflects that commitment.”

Media personnel can access constituency and regional collation centres using their photo accreditation cards issued by the EC, starting from Saturday, December 7, 2024.

The EC also announced that arrangements for media access to the National Collation Centre will be announced in due course.
