Election 2024: Naa Koryoo optimistic about winning Awutu Senya East seat

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunnor has expressed optimism about winning the Kasoa seat despite the destruction of several of her campaign billboards.

She has asked her supporters to be focused on campaigning and not be distracted by any form of intimidation.

Thousands of supporters showed up for the NDC PC’s health-walk which was organized to rejuvenate her support base and re-calibrate her campaign.

Marching through the principal streets of Kasoa, the enthusiastic supporters exhibited a sign of hope and assurance.

The NDC candidate, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunnor, while addressing the media after the walk described the destruction and defacing of her campaign materials such as billboards and posters as a means of getting her distracted but she says she will not fall for it.

Naa Koryoo, who is optimistic about winning over 60 percent out of the total votes, is therefore urging all her supporters to remain focus on the campaign and not be distracted by any intimidation tactics that may be employed by the NPP.

She pledges to offer a better representation of the people of Kasoa in parliament.

The Member of Parliament for Bongo, Edward Bawa, who graced the walk charged NDC supporters to work more harder towards the NDC victory.

He admonished constituents of the Awutu Senya East to make Naa Koryoo their choice on December 7 as he argues that Hawa Koomson, the incumbent NPP MP, has not offered a better representation of them in Parliament.

Meanwhile, some supporters of the NDC have expressed dissatisfaction over a misunderstanding that ensued between the camp of the parliamentary candidate, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunnor and Constituency Chairman Stephen Ofosu Agyare which caused the latter to abandon the walk midway with his supporters.

The party supporters are calling on leadership of the party to address the seeming rift between the two leaders.
