The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, has inaugurated a new Board of Directors for the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), urging the members to tackle long-standing operational challenges that have affected the company’s performance and public trust.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Jinapor underscored NEDCo’s critical role in Ghana’s power distribution chain and called on the board to take bold and practical steps to strengthen operations. He identified three key priorities for the board, improving revenue collection, enhancing customer education, and ensuring a stable and reliable power supply across all areas under NEDCo’s mandate.
Mr. Jinapor said NEDCo’s success was central to government’s energy access and sustainability goals, adding that the new board had a responsibility to deliver measurable progress.
The newly constituted board is chaired by Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah. Other members include Ing. Prof. Felix Kofi Abagale, Dr. Emelia Guo, Ing. Edward Obeng Kenzo, Ing. John Okine Yamoah who serves as Acting Managing Director, and Alhaji Seidu Imoro.
The minister expressed confidence that the new leadership would bring fresh energy and accountability to NEDCo’s operations, ensuring that communities in the northern sector and other operational zones benefit from consistent and quality power delivery.
