The Ministry of Roads and Highways has appealed to the Advertising Association of Ghana to strictly enforce its code of conduct regarding the installation of outdoor advertising structures.
This appeal comes amid concerns over an unauthorized billboard at the Flowerpot Interchange.
In a press release dated August 20, 2025, the Ministry expressed concern about the installation of the unauthorized billboard, stating that such actions violate regulations set by the Ghana Standards Authority’s “Advertisement Specification for Outdoor Signs” (GS 847:2019), Section 5, as well as Sections 11 and 15 of Act 540, and Section 188 of the Road Traffic Regulations, 2012 (LI 2180).
“Furthermore, we appeal to the Advertising Association of Ghana to strictly enforce its code of conduct regarding the installation of outdoor advertising structures,” the Ministry stated in the release signed by Nasir Ahmad Yartey, Head of the Public Relations Unit.
The Ministry is also calling on the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly to work closely with the Department of Urban Roads for the immediate removal of the billboard.
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to ensuring road safety and protecting road infrastructure for the benefit of all.
