The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has arrested Mr. Edwin Provencal, former Chief Executive Officer of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) as he allegedly attempted to leave the country.
Multiple reports say the former BOST boss was intercepted on Monday, November 10, while preparing to board a flight to Maputo, Mozambique.
Mr. Provencal, according to the close EOCO sources, had been placed on a stop list as part of investigations into activities that took place during his tenure at BOST.
He was reportedly travelling without the necessary clearance when EOCO officers apprehended him at the airport.
Officials of EOCO have confirmed the arrest, indicating that Mr. Provencal is assisting with investigations into the ongoing probe.
BOST, the state-owned enterprise responsible for the storage and transportation of petroleum products, has faced several probes over financial and operational issues in recent years.
Further developments are expected as investigations continue.
