Head coach of the Black Satellites, Desmond Offei, is set to make two changes to his starting lineup as Ghana prepares to face Senegal in their second group game at the 2025 WAFU U-20 tournament.
After a 1-1 draw with DR Congo on Friday, Offei is looking to freshen things up in attack. Abdul Hakim Sulemana and Andrews Adjabeng will drop out of the starting eleven, making way for Jerry Afriyie and Abdul Aziz Issah.
Gidios Aseako keeps his place in goal, following a good performance in the opening match. In defense, captain Ofori McCarthy will lead a familiar backline made up of Dacosta Antwi, Aaron Essel, and Phenyiin-Denis Marfo.
In midfield, Lord Afrifa continues as the anchor, with Emmanuel Mensah joined by the newly-introduced Abdul Aziz Issah, who is expected to bring more creativity and urgency in the middle of the park.
In attack, Joseph Amankwaah Opoku and goal scorer in the opening game, Musibau Aziz retain their spots, while Jerry Afriyie is handed a start, adding more pace and directness to the attack.
With a place in the next round still up for grabs, Coach Desmond Offei is counting on fresh legs and renewed energy in his lineup to make the difference against the defending champions.
The game will be played at the New Suez Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 9:00 PM local time (6:00 PM GMT).
