FAGE congratulates President Mahama, pledges support for export growth

The Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE) has congratulated President John Dramani Mahama on his election victory, citing his commitment to agricultural transformation and export growth.

According to FAGE, President Mahama’s administration has been instrumental in driving progress within the export sector, and his dedication to enhancing Ghana’s export capacity has given the export community renewed optimism for the future.

“FAGE is currently pursuing ambitious initiatives in collaboration with major stakeholders to significantly expand Ghana’s Non-Traditional Export (NTE) sector,” the statement read.

“Our strategic targets include increasing export revenues to US$5 billion by 2027 and reaching US$10 billion by 2029.”

FAGE expressed confidence that the new administration’s focus on private sector growth and policy direction will provide the enabling environment necessary to achieve these milestones.

The federation also reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate with the government to strengthen Ghana’s export sector, foster sustainable job creation, and maximize the value of the country’s agricultural resources.

“We eagerly anticipate partnering with the new administration to explore opportunities within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and solidify Ghana’s position as a leading horticultural hub in West Africa,” FAGE President Davies Korboe said.
