The Foundation for Contemporary Art, FCA-Ghana, is set to host the opening event of Fatric Bewong’s solo exhibition, “Revolutions Round about the Sun and Round around the Sons,” on Friday, May 9, 2025.
The exhibition, which runs from May 9 to June 8, 2025, features diverse artistic processes, techniques, and decisions that showcase Bewong’s passion for the environment. According to the curatorial team, Bewong’s work revolves around critical issues surrounding the environment and familial bonds.
“By laboriously sourcing, cutting, gluing, stitching, weaving, suturing, and binding fabric offcuts, discarded lottery forecasting paper, and a host of reclaimed and repurposed materials,” Bewong conjures up magical spaces, mysterious objects, and captivating propositions that open up our imaginations.
The exhibition will take place across three venues: Foundation for Contemporary Art, FCA-Ghana, Cantonments, Accra; Dei Centre Ghana, Tesano; and FCA-Ghana Studio 1 @ Jamestown Café, High Street, Jamestown.
The public is cordially invited to visit the exhibition from May 9 to June 8, 2025. The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 6 pm at the Foundation for Contemporary Art, FCA-Ghana.
A series of accompanying projects and programming will be rolled out, aiming to afford the artist and her audience profound moments of exchange and discursive engagement, culminating in a book project.
