FINANCIAL CRIMES: Akpaloo remains in custody after failing to meet bail conditions

Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Percival Kofi Akpaloo, is still being held in Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) custody despite being granted bail.

Kofi Akpaloo was arrested on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, over allegations of financial crimes.

“Fraud, causing financial loss to the State, dissipation of public funds, and money laundering,” Deputy Attorney-General Justice Srem Sai, listed the charges in a post on social media.

Akpaloo was granted police bail with conditions, including a GH¢10 million bond with two sureties to be justified.

However, he remains in custody pending fulfillment of the bail conditions.

“The suspect remains in the custody of EOCO pending the fulfilment of the bail conditions,” Justice Srem Sai stated in a Facebook post on Friday, September 5, 2025.
