The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Savannah Region has announced with profound sadness the passing of Alhassan Aliadong, the first Member of Parliament for the Damongo/Daboya constituency.
Aliadong served in Parliament from January 7, 1993, to January 6, 1997, on the ticket of the NDC.
The late Aliadong was the biological father of Prof. Alhassan Seidu, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University for Development Studies (UDS) and Savannah Regional Director of Research for the NDC.
According to a statement issued by Salisu Be-Awuribe, Regional Secretary of the Savannah Region NDC, the sad event occurred on September 19, 2024.
“The NDC family in the Savannah Region is deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved legislator, father, uncle, and husband. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Hon. Aliadong,” the statement read.
The NDC has urged all members and sympathizers to observe a moment of silence in honor of the departed MP.
