First Lady Lordina Mahama leads charge for gender parity on International Women’s Day

First Lady Lordina Mahama has emphasized the need for collective action to achieve gender equality and representation in national life.

Today Saturday, March 8, 2025, marks International Women’s Day. This year’s campaign theme is “Accelerate Action”.

Madam Lordina Mahama wrote on social media that the theme is a powerful call to step up our efforts to achieve gender equality and representation in national life.

She expressed her trust in President Mahama’s leadership to continue advancing women’s issues and achieving gender parity.

Lordina Mahama emphasized the importance of empowering women and girls, ensuring equal opportunities in education, healthcare, leadership, and all aspects of life.

The call to action comes at a time when Ghana is working to address the challenges faced by women, including poverty, unemployment, and gender-based violence.

President Mahama, who assumed office on January 7, 2025, has pledged to strengthen the country’s justice system and has launched initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.
