Flood victims in Okyereko face hardship, appeal for support

Victims of the flooding disaster in Okyereko, Gomoa East District, Central Region, are facing difficult times after their buildings collapsed.

They are now occupying uncompleted buildings, exposing them to harsh weather conditions and health risks.

Metro TV’s Central Regional Correspondent, Akwasi Addo reports that over 60-year-old Agbota Ruben Awaga, whose residential facility collapsed, is housed in an uncompleted building with his children.

They have received minimal support from NADMO and the MP, and are appealing for help to reconstruct their building.

Despite promises from authorities, including Central Regional Minister Marigold Assan and Gomoa East DCE Solomon Darko Quarm, there is no clear roadmap for support.

Food items meant for distribution are being held at the Assembly, and the contractor’s activities continue to affect residents.

Victims are demanding government intervention to provide relief.
