A 38-year-old Florida woman has been arrested after her husband allegedly discovered video footage showing her engaging in a sexual act with the family dog, leading to an animal-sex charge.
Malia Nummerdor was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Charlotte County Jail after her husband reportedly alerted police to the footage and provided investigators with photographs and videos he said captured the incident.
According to Gulf Coast News, the husband had installed two security cameras inside the family home as he tried to find out who had been taking money from a coin jar. He told police that everyone in the household was aware of the cameras.
However, while reviewing footage from a camera positioned in a bedroom, the man allegedly came across recordings involving Nummerdor and the family dog.
He subsequently showed investigators images from the footage and gave police access to the laptop on which the recordings were stored.
During an interview with police on Tuesday, Nummerdor acknowledged that the footage showed her with the dog but denied engaging in any sexual contact with the animal. She reportedly told officers that she was simply petting the dog.
Police, however, said her explanation did not correspond with what appeared to be captured in the video.
According to the arrest report, investigators said Nummerdor could not adequately explain what she appeared to be doing in the footage.
She was subsequently arrested and charged with engaging in sexual contact with an animal.
The case remains subject to the legal process, and the allegations against Nummerdor have not been proven in court.
