Football brings peace as military and prison officers unite in Bawku

Military and prison officers in Bawku have put aside their differences and smoked the peace pipe following a violent clash in April this year.

In a bid to foster peace and unity among security agencies, the national leadership spearheaded a football gala, uniting officers from the military and prison services in a spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition.

Colonel Yaw Owusu Appah, Commander of the Joint Task Force, and Mrs. Bafoe Boni, Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Prison Service, advised the officers to maintain professionalism and set the pace for peace in Bawku.

The football gala aimed to bridge the gap between the security agencies and promote a harmonious working relationship.

In April, a clash between the military and prison officers in Bawku resulted in injuries to many officers, with one sustaining serious gunshot wounds.
