Former NSA boss Osei Assibey Antwi picked up by NIB

Osei Assibey Antwi, the former Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), has been questioned by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) as part of the ongoing investigation into the ghost names controversy.

According to sources, Mr. Osei Assibey was invited to appear before the NIB, and he did so on Thursday, March 20, accompanied by his lawyer.

According to reports, he was questioned for several hours about the incident, which concerns the NSA payroll fraud including the enlistment of nonexistent staff.

It’s still unclear if the interrogation resulted in his release.

After The Fourth Estate published an exposé exposing numerous anomalies in the plan, the NIB began its investigations.

Gifty Oware Mensah and Kwaku Ohene Djan, two former NSA Deputy Directors, were previously invited and questioned about their involvement in the purported scam as part of the investigation.

Serious concerns regarding financial mismanagement within the scheme have been raised by the ghost names incident, leading to requests for more stringent oversight and responsibility.

Stakeholders have encouraged the government to restore public trust in the program by taking firm action against anyone proven to be at fault.
