Police have arrested four men suspected of taking part in the robbery of a gold dealer in Wassa Akropong, during which cash, gold valued at more than GH¢94.5 million and other valuables were stolen.
The suspects have been identified as Kwabena Amuah, 25, also known as IK, Mohammed Nasir, 28, also known as Mallam, Samuel Agyei, 24, also known as Okese 1, and Kofi Gyasi, 26, also known as Brefo.
According to the police, the four are believed to be members of a robbery syndicate operating in the area.
Investigators said the suspects allegedly attacked the gold dealer in Wassa Akropong and made away with GH¢24,000 in cash, seven pounds and six matches of gold valued at GH¢94,530,000. They also reportedly stole an iPhone XR and a Tecno Spark 12 mobile phone during the robbery.
The four suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue into the incident.
