Francis-Xavier Sosu stable after falling ill during GIMPA presentation

Madina Member of Parliament Francis-Xavier Sosu has been taken to a medical facility after falling ill while delivering a presentation at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on Friday.

Parliament, in a statement, confirmed that Dr Sosu received immediate assistance at the event before being transferred to a medical facility, where he is currently receiving treatment.

The statement said the MP is in stable condition and remains under the care of his medical team.

The incident was captured on video and has since circulated widely on social media, prompting concern among members of the public.

Parliament has, however, appealed to the public and the media to stop sharing the video, citing respect for Dr Sosu and his family.

It also urged the public to refrain from speculating about the cause of the incident or the MP’s condition, while calling for the privacy of his family to be respected during the period.

“Further updates will be communicated through official channels of Parliament as appropriate,” the statement issued by Parliament’s Director of Media Relations, David Sebastian Damoah, said.

Parliament also expressed appreciation to the management and staff of GIMPA, the medical personnel who attended to the MP, and others who responded promptly to the incident.

The House further thanked the public for the prayers and messages of goodwill sent following news of the MP’s condition.
