Funeral turns bloody as okada riders clash at Enyan Asempanyin

A funeral ceremony turned violent when two Okada riders crashed and died during a reckless riding competition at Enyan Asempanyin in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region.

The incident occurred on Friday evening during the funeral of a colleague, Daniel Nyarkoh, 23, who also died in a motor accident.

Eyewitnesses told Metro TV that the Okada riders were riding dangerously, competing for a prize, when the accident occurred.

One of the riders died instantly, while the other died on the way to the hospital.

Charles Kwame Amoasi, former Assembly Member for Enyan Asempanyin, who was at the funeral, expressed shock and sadness over the incident.

He urged parents to caution their children against engaging in dangerous activities.

The funeral ceremony was disrupted by the incident, and the bodies of the two riders have been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
