The President of The Gambia, Adama Barrow has offered his heartfelt congratulations to Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama, commending his resilience and leadership as he embarks on his new administration.
Speaking during President Mahama’s visit to Banjul, the Gambian leader expressed confidence in Ghana’s continued progress under Mahama’s guidance, highlighting the long-standing and strong relationship between the two nations.
“We congratulate you for your resounding victory, for your resilience, and your courage,” the Gambian president remarked, acknowledging Mahama’s impressive leadership journey.
“There is no school for experience. You have been a former president, and now you are president again. We have no doubt that you will continue where you left off.”
Reflecting on the diplomatic ties shared between the two countries, the Gambian leader noted the positive relations that have flourished over the past eight years, emphasizing their mutual commitment to strengthening the West African region.
In his speech, the president assured President Mahama of Gambia’s unwavering support, expressing a shared goal to elevate the role of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on the continental and global stage.
“We will work with you to make sure that we take ECOWAS to the next level,” he affirmed, signaling a strong commitment to regional cooperation under Mahama’s leadership.
This exchange of goodwill further solidified the bond between Ghana and The Gambia, as both countries look toward greater collaboration in regional affairs, security, and economic development.
