Garry Lineker questions why Fatawu Issahaku isn’t starting games for Leicester City

Legendary English player, Gary Lineker has expressed his surprise at why Ghanaian international, Fatawu Issahaku doesn’t start games for Leicester City in the English Premier League.

Lineker, a longtime supporter of Leicester City, praised Issahaku’s impressive performance against Southampton, which helped Leicester win 3-2.

Issahaku made a significant impact in just 31 minutes of play, providing an assist and having the most touches on the field. Lineker lauded the Ghanaian forward and exhibited his eagerness to see him play a more prominent role in the team.

“I don’t know who picks the running order, but this was not on first today. I will never know. The game really changed when Fatawu came on. As a Leicester City fan, my kids all follow Leicester as well.

“Every time we see the team sheet and he is not in, we go, ‘Oh no, not again. Why is he not playing?’ This kid is special,” Lineker said during MOTD aired on October 20, 2024.

Leicester City manager Steve Cooper has taken notice of Issahaku’s talent and is considering giving him a more significant role in the team, possibly even as an attacking right-back.
